扼す

●咽喉を扼す have a hold [grip] on sb; grip the throat of 《the enemy》

・腕を扼す hold sb's arm(s); hold sb by the arm(s)

・海峡を扼す control [command, dominate] the straits

・進路を扼す obstruct sb's passage.
